Analysis of common faults in automatic washing machine (I)

When repairing a fully automatic washing machine, there are many types of faults encountered. This article will analyze the nine major failures of automatic washing machines. The full text is divided into two parts. This article mainly describes the common four major failures.

The 1st Fault:The Water Intake Stops When The Water Intake Does Not Reach The Set Water Level

  • Analysis and overhaul:This fault is mainly caused by poor performance of the water pressure switch. When the air pressure in the air collection and chamber has not reached the specified pressure, the contact will be switched from the open state to the closed state and then stop the water inlet.

  • Specific reasons and treatment methods:

  1. The water pressure switch water level which control spring pre-compression amount becomes small. as long as the adjustment screw is screwed in to increase the pre-compression amount of the water level control spring. If the water level control spring becomes weaker or loses its elasticity, replace the water level control spring.

  2. When the groove on the water pressure switch cam is worn or damaged, It’s necessary to replace the cam.

The 2nd Fault: The Water Intake Must Be Over The Water Level. The Water Intake Will Stop

  • Analysis and overhaul:This phenomenon indicates that when the actual water level has reached the specified height, the air pressure in the gas collection chamber of the water pressure switch still does not reach the specified value. Only when the water level is continuously increased, the water level switch operates.

  • Specific reasons and treatment methods:

  1. The air pressure regulating valve of the water pressure collecting chamber is blocked or leaking. Just remove some debris from the air guide or seal it with 401 glue at the leak. If the air-conducting hose is aging or rupturing, replace the air-conducting hose.

  2. The water pressure switch water level control spring pre-shrinkage is too large. As long as the adjustment screw is screwed out, the water level control spring pre-compression amount can be reduced.

  3. The reversing ram and transmission components in the water pressure switch are deformed or damaged. It can be solved by repairing the correction. In severe cases, the water pressure switch should be replaced.

The 3rd Fault: When The Program Enters The Washing State, The Motor Operate Normally, But The Pulsator Does Not Operate

  • Analysis and overhaul:This fault appears  mostly on the mechanical transmission between the motor and the pulsator.

  • Specific reasons and treatment methods:

  1. When The fastening screws of the motor pulley, clutch pulley and pulsator are loosing, slippery or broken, just retighten or replace the fastening screw. If the pulsator is emptied and rounded, replace the pulsator.

  2. The V-belt slips or falls off. As long as the distance between the motor and the clutch is properly adjusted .In order to increase the frictionthe, the rosin powder is applied to the V-belt . If the V-belt is aging, replace the V-belt.

  3. The parts of the clutch reduction mechanism are worn or damaged. It’s necessary to replace the clutch assembly.

 

The 4th Fault: When Washing, The Dewatering Bucket Rotates

  • Analysis and overhaul:There are two cases of dewatering buckets and turning points. One is that the dewatering bucket rotates clockwise, and the other is that the dewatering bucket rotates counterclockwise.

  • Specific reasons and treatment methods:

  1. The specific reasons and treatment methods for the dewatering bucket to follow the clockwise direction:The brake band is loosing and leading to the braking torque of the brake belt’s the dewatering shaft reduce, just the  reinstal the brake belt.The brake band is severely worn or damaged. The position of the pawl can be adjusted by rotating. the adjusting screw to increase the braking torque of the brake belt’s the dewatering shaft. In severe cases, the brake belt should be replaced.

  2. The specific reasons and treatment methods of the dewatering bucket counterclockwise rotation:The clutch torsion spring is detached, broken or the torsion spring , and the dewatering shaft are too loose to slip leads to the torsion spring loses the anti-reverse function. Just reinstall the torsion spring or replace the torsion spring. If it’s serious, replace the reducer.When the clutch brake band is loosen, worn or broken,just retight or replace the brake band.The clutch brake spring or fork spring is too soft or broken. Just replace the clutch brake or the fork spring to solve it.
